The Cardiology board exam has maintained a generally consistent pass rate over the last five years, hovering right around 90% for first-time test takers. In 2013, the pass rate spiked to 95%. According to the American Board of Internal Medicine, candidates who prepare well for the exam have a very high chance for success over time; candidates with three or more subsequent exam administrations (not necessarily re-takes) had a 96% pass rate.
